XINGNING STUDIO
The name ‘Xingning’ is taken from the Xingning Bridge next to the studio. She has witnessed the studio's growth and hopes to use the word "Xingning" to encourage me.
Xingning Studio was established in Ningbo, China in February 2022. At the same time, R&D and production will be carried out in London and Ningbo. Steven Wong is the owner of this studio. He is responsible for the research, development, production, and sales of all current works.
Our studio has a unique product concept: we encourage creators to express their ideas on our products freely, continue to explore the potential of our products and make them more unique. In addition, none of our works are designed to chase trends. Instead, we slow down to feel life's pain and joy and then show them in our works.
The studio currently owns the series DREAMING UNDER THE BRIDGE. At the same time, we look forward to collaborating with more creators and artists around the world to launch more works with unique ideas.

DREAMING UNDER THE BRIDGE
"Dreaming Under The Bridge" is a long-term project I began in 2022, estimated to take over five years to complete. It was briefly put on hold due to my studies, and I only revisited it properly in 2023. This series attempts to piece together fragments of my childhood memories in Jiangdong, Ningbo—China has transformed so drastically these past two decades that even my hometown feels foreign now. Sometimes I can’t tell whether the scenes in my mind are genuine recollections, stories implanted by family tales, or just wild growths from my dreams. Those splintered images, sounds, and smells have all blended into a haze, so the final works will deliberately mirror this fragmentation: scale models, illustrated books, sound installations, and perhaps short films.
I’m still slowly constructing that world in my head. I've made some boats, people who live by the river, and aliens who somehow got in (yeah, I don't know why they're there either). Lately, I’ve started putting models together to create vignettes, as if peeling back a corner of the curtain to that world, quietly documenting it without disturbing. I'm still studying in London, and my flat is too small for me to make larger works. I can only draw them on my books first, and then continue to work on them when I have more space. But the images of these scenes kept repeating in my mind. The faces of the people in these scenes seem to be getting clearer and clearer, I can hear the sound of the boat sailing on the river, the familiar smell and the soft wind.

Steven Wong is a visual artist working with 3D modeling, illustration, and animation. He was born in Ningbo, China, and currently lives and studies in London, United Kingdom.
